The High Street Guides: Midi Skirts

(affiliate links used)

Midi skirts are great. They suit any shape and size with the variety of cuts and designs out there and work for almost all seasons (only awkward one is the depths of winter when it could potentially snow but other than that we're good). I love how inclusive they feel, so wanted to put together an edit of some of the best available on the high street to take you from the end of summer into autumn, and hopefully from winter into spring too (because we love to be as sustainable as possible).

Wrap Midis

We'll began with my favourite: The wrap style. Maybe its because I'm on the short side so the bit of leg out really helps with the overall look, but I find a wrap midi the one I’m most confident in knowing that it looks good. It can have the effect of looking shorter at the front which can make it easier to style if you're not used to the longer length like me. Maybe get yourself a plain one to match all your graphic tees and trainers?

The Side Spit

Only way I could describe it really. These usually fall straighter and as the name I've provided suggests, have either a slit up one side or both. I find this to be much more flattering on me as opposed to no slit because on my shape and height, so equally make work for petite girls well.

Everything else

Broad I know, but now we're onto anything else. No slits, pleated, button down and anything else not already shown. These might work better if you'd rather have more of your legs covered (because we all have those days) or find the other styles not to suit you. I love how the satin ones can be dressed up or down, making them the perfect addition to your wardrobe if you often find yourself struggling to know what to wear. Plus, lets faces it these are much more practical on a very windy day.
