Styling Skirts in Winter

Some people love skirts, some hate them, but we can all agree that when it comes to winter, it can be challenging to style them and be warm at the same time. I mean, wearing no tights is unrealistic as it's WAY too cold! So, as I'm loving wearing skirts right now I thought I'd share my favourite things to style them with to look good and remain toasty.

Chunky Jumpers

I love to style a skirt with a chunky, warm jumper. It makes up for the lack of warmth on the legs, and can look really nice tucked in, or loosely hanging over the skirt, making it more like the centre of the outfit. This can create a chic, but practical outfit and is one of my favourites this time of year.

The Black Boots

Black boots are my go too when wearing a skirt. Because you are most likely going to be wearing black tights at this time of year, having a pair a black boots to chuck on is so handy as they match perfectly and don't contrast with your legs a lot so the outfit feels as though it all blends and flows better.

Oversized Coat

Again for the warmth and style, I love an oversized coat overtop of a skirt. If you're someone who always feels conscious in a skirt (which no one should, where what you want always;)), it can make you feel more covered, whilst also adding length to an outfit. It can also be a way to dress your skirt up or down. A smarter coat could make a black denim skirt for example look more dressed up.

These photos include one look I love, but this outfit principle can easily be replicated with a black denim skirt, same boots, and a chunky cream jumper for example. It is the same outfit from my last post, adding the coat and shoes into the mix.
